Bio
I was born in Croatia, on the island of Krk. In 1970 I immigrated to Canada. Today I live and work in Burnaby, British Columbia.
In 1985 I graduated from Kwantlen College with an Associate of Fine Arts Diploma.
My childhood memories bring to mind the feel of old, time eaten walls and sun-bleached cracked stone. This is where my love for textured surfaces originates from.
I relate the integrated complexity of life experiences to those layered surfaces of old walls whose grooves and erasures bear witness to its history.
Similarly, in my art I address the themes of interconnectivity in human relationships to place, persons and to deeper interior realities, all layered; concurrently spiritual and material.
I like to work in series, anywhere from six to twenty + canvases, simultaneously.
